POLICIES
Rental Rates
This includes the use of the barn for a weekend which is Friday, Saturday and Sunday. See rate sheet for current pricing.
Sunday rates and times are listed under the Sunday rate sheet.
Hours
The rental is Friday from 9 AM until 9 PM, Saturday from 9 AM until midnight. Sunday from 8 AM until 11 AM.
$50 per half hour past 11 am on Sunday will be charged. For a Sunday wedding the hours are 11 am to midnight and Monday until noon.
Cancellations
Deposits are non-refundable. In the event that the date must be moved, the deposit may be transferred to a new date, if there is an acceptable date that is open up, to one calendar year.
Décor
While the Barn at Windy Pine is magnificent with the current lighting and chandelier; guests may wish to add some personalizing touches. Decorations must be removed by the client (or their vendor) at the end of the event unless otherwise arranged. To protect our 150 year old barn, fireworks or fire based décor such as candles or oil lamps are prohibited. Due to the safety of the animals we do not allow confetti, glitter or silk rose petals scattered on tables, floors or grounds. Natural flower petals are allowed. Bubbles are also allowed. BWP will not be held responsible for lost or stolen items.
Music
All sound equipment should be provided by the guests or their vendors. Electrical requirements should be discussed prior to the event. Music will terminate by 11:30 PM.
Food Service
Renters can hire a caterer, provide their own, or have a potluck. The food vendor (caterer) needs to submit proof of liability insurance before they can serve any food.
Tents
Any tents required for food service or special activities will not be a problem but should be approved by BWP.
Tables and Chairs
At this time BWP does include 30 tables and 240 chairs.
Seating
Our facility can accommodate an intimate affair to a fully-catered wedding and reception. The barn can comfortably seat 240 guests with options to expand that number. The outdoor area around the barn can be used to further extend the reception and seating area depending on weather conditions.
Liquor
BWP is not licensed to sell alcoholic beverages. All alcoholic beverages cannot be sold (liquor can be given away). All alcoholic beverages must be served by a certified bartender who holds a license in the Village of Portland and be in compliance with all laws and regulations established by appropriate governmental units (including no service to underage or intoxicated guests). The bartender needs to be chosen from the Bartending list found on our website, the dispensing of alcoholic beverages must terminate at 11:30 p.m. You are responsible for compliance with restrictions or serving of alcohol and for the consequences of alcohol consumption, including but not limited to, adverse health reactions, property damage and 3rd-party liability claims. You agree to indemnify Barn at Windy Pine, LLC, its owners and agents, from any and all liabilities, which may arise from the serving of alcoholic beverages.
Other Properties
Rental of the barn does not include use of adjacent farm properties. The BWP is part of a working cattle company and guests are not allowed into or around other farm buildings for liability reasons. Anyone found near animals will be asked to leave. ABSOLUTELY no feeding any animals!
Liability
BWP is not responsible for inclement weather, lost or stolen items, or other circumstances.
Damage
The client is responsible for any and all damage to the event space or adjacent property.
No smoking is allowed in or around the farm buildings. There is a designated smoking area. This rule will be strictly enforced. Barn at Windy Pines reserves the right to ask smokers to leave if they are not following this policy.
